The Learning Through Videos project by the Children’s Film Society of India was to use the powerful medium of films and video as a tool for learning among school children. The films were aimed at cultural sensitization, knowing about different cultures of the world, storytelling and building in students a sense of inquisitiveness towards how to do things.
We intended to do this through school wise screening of the videos across 6 different districts of Bihar which includes Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Khagaria, Purnia and Katihar. As a follow up to these screenings we intended to engage with students in discussions on film making, storytelling and cultures of the world. These discussions have a more lasting impact on these young minds, as they are able to connect with it.
